Terms of Use of PeerBag
1. Purpose
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of PeerBag. PeerBag connects members who publish an Offer, a Demand, or a Transport so they can discuss an item and its transportation.
By creating an account, the member accepts these Terms of Use.
2. Contact
For questions about PeerBag: contact@peerbag.com.
3. Access requirements
PeerBag is reserved for people aged 18 or over. By creating an account, the member states that they are at least 18 years old and have the capacity to comply with these Terms of Use.
Public listings may be viewed without an account. Publishing a listing, adding a favorite, using messaging, and other member-only functions require an active account.
4. Account
Members provide accurate, up-to-date information, choose a username that follows PeerBag’s rules, and protect their credentials. Report suspected misuse of your account to contact@peerbag.com.
Email-address verification confirms access to that address. It is not a complete verification of the member's civil identity.
Each member is responsible for activity performed through their account, except for fraudulent use that is not attributable to them.
5. PeerBag's role
PeerBag provides a connection service. Members remain responsible for the information they publish, their communications, their decisions, and the performance of any agreement they reach with one another.
PeerBag is not a party to agreements between members. In its current version, PeerBag does not collect payments between members, hold funds in escrow, insure any item or Transport, or guarantee a member's identity or an item's availability, quality, conformity, delivery, or legality.
A price displayed in a listing is information provided by its author. It is not an offer or guarantee from PeerBag.
6. listings
A member may publish an Offer, a Demand, or a Transport. They must ensure that their listing is truthful, understandable, sufficiently detailed, and up to date. They may publish only images and content that they are authorized to use.
The member must not publish personal information that is unnecessary for making contact. Sensitive exchanges should remain in the spaces provided for them.
7. Prohibited content and uses
PeerBag must not be used to:
Each member is responsible for checking the restrictions that apply to the item, the journey, the countries concerned, and the chosen mode of transport.
8. Messaging and connections
Messaging allows participants connected to a listing to communicate. Within the application, only conversation participants can access these exchanges. Members communicate respectfully and share only the information required for their exchange.
Authorized persons may access exchanges only when necessary to secure the service, apply these Terms of Use, address a legal obligation, or protect the rights of PeerBag and its members.
9. Moderation
PeerBag may review a listing, request a correction, refuse or remove it, limit access to a function, or block an account when content or conduct appears contrary to these Terms of Use, the security of the service, or the law.
Members can report a listing, a user or a message using the available reporting controls. Official moderation conversations are available in messaging but do not accept replies. To contact PeerBag about a decision: contact@peerbag.com.
10. Intellectual property
The member retains the rights they hold in the content they publish. While that content is present on the service, the member grants PeerBag non-exclusive permission to host, reproduce, adapt it to the display format, and present it solely to operate, secure, and display their listing in PeerBag.
The PeerBag name, its visual identity, interface, and service-owned content may not be reused without authorization, except where permitted by law.
11. Availability and security
PeerBag seeks to maintain an available and secure service without guaranteeing continuous or error-free operation. A function may be interrupted for maintenance, security, or service development.
The member remains responsible for protecting their device, credentials, and the information they choose to share with another member.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, PeerBag is not responsible for an agreement between members, a member's conduct, an item, a journey, a delay, a loss, damage, or a payment arranged outside the Platform.
This limitation does not reduce any mandatory rights available to a user and does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
13. Suspension, leaving, and account deletion
You can stop using PeerBag at any time and request account deletion at contact@peerbag.com. Deletion from settings is not available.
PeerBag may suspend or block an account in accordance with the moderation section. Some information may be retained after a member leaves when justified by law, security, fraud prevention, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Automatic cleanup, enabled by default and scheduled each day, deletes the relevant data under the periods and exceptions set out in the Privacy Policy. An administrator can suspend and re-enable cleanup; suspension does not change the applicable retention periods or your rights.
14. Changes to the Terms of Use
PeerBag may change these Terms of Use to reflect developments in the service, security, or the applicable framework. If a significant change is made, members will be informed by an appropriate means before the new version becomes binding where required by law.
15. Applicable law and disputes
These terms do not limit the mandatory protections granted by applicable law, including your rights as a consumer. You retain the right to bring a claim before the competent courts. For a complaint about the service: contact@peerbag.com.
